On the eve of World Health day, one day clinical program was held in which medical and dental help was extended to needy and deserving people. The camp was organized by the“ SOCIETY FOR UPLIFTMENT OF KASHMIR(NGO)” under the collaboration of “VOLUNTARY MEDICARE SOCIETY(NGO) at Bemina, Srinagar. The team of doctors comprising of Physicians, surgeons including Plastic surgeon, dental surgeons including oral and maxillofacial surgeon, ENT, audiologist and physiotherapists, impressed upon the patients to keep-up proper health through maintenance of proper hygiene and also distributed medicines and other needy items among them. Audio and dental aids in the shape of tooth-pastes, tooth-brushes and mouth-washes were also distributed among beneficiaries besides one 6 year old girl who was having hearing impairment , was fitted with a digital BTE hearing aid and thus making a resumption of smile on her face. Deliberating upon the importance of WORLD HEALTH DAY , the speakers highlighted the importance of good health in general and that of oral health particular. Since the main focus of this World Health day was HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, as such it was explicitly made clear to the audience that they should as far as possible keep away obesity, smoking and feed on appropriate diet which are contributory factors for de-arranged blood pressure levels. Further they were also informed about the importance of preventing high blood pressure and related complications; to encourage adults to check their blood pressure and to follow the advice of health-care professionals. At the end, the president of Voluntary Medicare Society namely Dr. Mohammad Maqbool also delivered vote of thanks and also voted for conducting such camps jointly in future.
